Monica Nainiger currently serves as a therapist who is open to and comfortable with working with clients across the lifespan and with diverse backgrounds as a part of the team at Westlake Counseling and Wellness. She employs a humanistic person centered, experiential, and practical approach to help clients gain a better awareness of their hurdles in life along with the courage and strength to overcome them.
Her past work experiences involve working holistically with families and their various subsystems (couples/parents and children) to deal with a myriad of life challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse and to help them achieve and sustain their vision of a healthy and productive life. She has also worked on the educational level within various school districts, helping parents and children to work together to accomplish standards of learning excellence. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology as well as a PhD in Counselor Education. She is currently also working on completing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as using play in her work in becoming a nationally recognized Registered Play Therapist.
In her spare time, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, exploring wineries and doing outdoorsy activities. She is also a garden enthusiast.
