Hello! My name is Laycie and I am a licensed professional counselor and provisional registered art therapist who provides individual counseling from children to adults. I have a Master’s of Art in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline college where I was guided through a program that helped prepare and educate me with both counseling tools and art therapy tools. I have worked with clients who come in with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger management, ADHD, adjustment/life concerns, Autism, PTSD and family conflicts. I am a supporter and give LGBTQ+ affirming counseling and believe in providing a safe and supportive space for all clients to be able to grow and learn and manage not just the life concerns and stressors that they have right now but utilize the tools learned throughout life.
In session I utilize art therapy tools but also am able to utilize traditional talk therapy as well as play therapy. I believe in using a holistic approach utilizing multiple theoretical approaches including but not limited to CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and humanistic. When it comes to working with children I believe in working collaboratively with the family because to increase the success rate for the children you need to be able to work with the parents. I also provide psychoeducation for adolescent and adult clients because education is power. I believe in making therapy approachable and am adaptable to meet the needs of every client.
My goal is to provide a place for clients to work through their life stressors and leave with the tools necessary to accomplish what they have set out to do in their life.
Fun fact: I have two axolotls named Hades and Persephone.
